Comedian, radio presenter and star of Citizen Khan, Adil Ray stars in series 14 of Who Do You Think You Are?

From Kenya to Uganda, Adil traces his diverse ancestry in his episode of the show.  

Here are five things you might not know about the star...
 

1. Becoming Mr Khan 

Most famous for his tv series Citizen Khan, Adil enjoys assuming the title role of Mr Khan who is the head of his Asian family. With his prosthetic beard and make up, it takes over two hours for the transformation to take place. 

2. Proud Brummie

Born in Birmingham, Adil is proud of calling this diverse and multicultural city his home. 

3. Favourite on the Airwaves

Before becoming a television star, Adil worked as a radio presenter and joined the BBC Asian Network in 2001. He has also presented numerous cricket matches on BBC Radio 5Live and as part of the Radio 4's Test Match Special.

4. Fawlty Towers Fan

A huge fan of British comedy, Adil has taken inspiration from classic shows such as Fawlty Towers in his own comedy work. When he appeared as a contestant on Celebrity Mastermind, he even chose to answer questions on the John Cleese comedy set in a Torquay hotel. 

5. Jaguar 

Adil has a passion for Jaguar cars and has leased a number throughout his career as a radio presenter and comedy star. He admits he would like to buy an F-type Jaguar to keep.
