Welsh family history can be tricky because of limited records availability and the frequently recurring common surnames.

However, there are still free resources available online that can help you find Welsh ancestors.

FamilySearch has this index to Glamorgan register entries courtesy of the Glamorgan Family History Society. There are also free indexes for Monmouthshire, Carmarthenshire, Brecknockshire and Pembrokeshire.
